A joint research project to analyse date of WEEE flows to improve collection rates.

Dynamic WEEE Model development with Lancaster University

In 2019, REPIC funded a joint research project with researchers at the Pentland Centre for Sustainability in Business, based at the University of Lancaster. The team analysed data on WEEE flows to improve collection rates and forecasting in order to shape electronic waste recycling policy in the UK.

The project was commissioned to better understand high-level electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) trends and WEEE generated flows and fates. This involved quantifying and analysis of EEE put on the market and its lifecycle, as well as analysis of data about collection and recycling of WEEE.
